This is the third in my 'Going Under' lesbian vampire series. In this one the action moves to Berlin where Canadian student, Nicole, is doing research for a dissertation. Feeling she should get out into the city a bit more she is saved from an unwanted encounter by a pair of mysterious women (who might be familiar to readers of the previous two 'Going Under' books!).
Then Hannah, Nicole's brother’s former girlfriend on a tour of Europe turns up, revealing she is deep into Goth culture and had always been bisexual. Soon Nicole is living out the fantasies of the past with Hannah as her girlfriend. However, the couple are increasingly drawn into the world of Amelinda, “the Lady”, a wealthy and exotic individual building an entourage of young women for her own particular needs.
As a lesbian, Nicole struggles to provide precisely what Amelinda needs and is increasingly in danger until the vigilante couple who had saved Nicole once before turn out to be her cousin Sara and her wife Cate. Now Nicole is opened up to the reality that Berlin is not only home to vampires and werewolves, but the powerful ‘Category 500’ beings like Amelinda that Nicole needs to fight against and from whom she is increasingly desperate to rescue fellow victim Solène.
